Casa Di Fredo adheres to a philosophy that prioritizes the utilization of natural ingredients within its skincare range; however, there are certain instances where alternative components may be necessary. In these situations, we will only use “non-toxic” (at any level) synthetic alternatives whenever possible. If we cannot identify a safe or safer synthetic option, manufacturing for that product will not proceed, which could result in the absence of conventional items frequently found in skincare lines on our site. We have dedicated a specific section of our website exclusively for natural products, covering most of our offerings. As a transparent brand, our product descriptions will clearly note any synthetic characteristics present, why they were used, why we had to use and any information that you should be aware of. Should the details or descriptions of these synthetic products be overly complex, we will provide a link to the appropriate publicly accessible information, along with our “Plain English Description” to assist our customers in making informed decisions for themselves.
*Sodium Phytate DescriptionSodium phytate is the synthetic salt form of the antioxidant phytic acid. In this form, it works as a chelating agent, keeping metals from binding to water in cosmetics. This also helps stabilize the formula.
*Ethylhexylglycerin is a cosmetic ingredient that is used in skincare products. It is used as an alternative to parabens (preservatives) and is used for its skin-conditioning properties. Ethylhexylglycerin has been reported to cause dermatitis and skin irritation. Our Retinol is the only product where this preservative is used. It is used due to the properties of Retinol itself, meaning there are few alternatives to preserving “Retinol” If you have sensitive skin DO-NOT-USE-THIS-PRODUCT
